(1-2 deacons & 4-6 non-deacons) |
Plans and implements special programs for senior member
- Senior Sunday (usuaully held on Sunday closest to Valentine's Day)
- Takes place right after church with luncheon and entertainment
- Assigned sub-committees plan entertainment, secure space, plan for food, menu, cook, cost, decorations, set up/clean up
- Publicity (bulletin, newsletter, minute for mission, bulletin boards)
- Senior Choir organized through Sunday School classes, sign-ups and publicity
- Preaching Pastor lines up senior members as liturgists, ushers, children's sermon, etc.
- Visitation
- Committee contacts deacons to remind them of monthly visits to home-bound members. Visits also made by other WPC members, who report visit to staff liaison who documents visit
- Helping Hands
- Group of senior adults who meet at church to help with cleaning, maintenance, etc.
- Fun Ambassadors
- Meet weekly (as posted) to do crafts, paint and create beauty and fun
- Plans, implements educational programs for seniors
- SAF-T for Seniors Program (contact in the event of inclement
weather (tornado, heat, extreme cold), or if there is an emergency
- End of life directives and estate planning
- Health related educational programs
- Sponsors Senior-on-Call prayer warriors who are sent weekly prayer lists
- Maintains existing programs and provides monthly information for newsletter
- Explorers (meet 1st Tuesday/month for lunch)
- Bridge groups
- Happy Stitchers/Quilters
- Salt Shakers (dinner group)
