The Send Initiative Application

The “Send Initiative”

The very fabric of the “Send” initiative can be gleaned from the church’s mission statement.  Westminster Presbyterian Church exists to bring people into relationship with Jesus Christ and his church, grow them in the knowledge and love of God, and send them into ministry wherever the Spirit directs.  The Send Initiative is a program that enables congregants to answer the call of God’s mission by providing fiscal and support resources to fulfill that call.  Support is available for members of WPC as they engage with either organized or organic programming beyond the borders of WPC’s Snellville Campus.  Support is dedicated for participation in new ventures or programs that are not currently directly supported by WPC as a Mission Program and funding is available for mission opportunities across the street, as well as across the globe.

The Send Initiative is unique in terms of a Mission program in that it provides a response to the individual call of each and every member of the church.  As a ministry, we are dependent on the hopes, dreams and visions of our membership base to identify opportunities to engage in the field.  Rather than a directive from a church council, it is more of a response to the whim of the congregant.  There are a great many opportunities in the field and all are certainly worthy of our support, however we can’t support them all as there is a finite limit to resources.  The Send Initiative is designed to engage the spirit of our membership base and answering the call that our members hear.

The first recipient received $225 to engage with a Presbyterian group in West Virginia in rehabbing homes and sharing the Good News of the Gospel with the program recipients.

In order to receive funding, please complete the Send Application (available as a Adobe PDF file on this page and submit to the Mission & Evangelism Ministry for review.  Applicants that are funded are required to share their experience with the congregation at a later date and must, in turn, identify another congregant who would apply for support through the program.

How far could you go to answer God’s call?  The answer to that question could be a great distance on your WALK or perhaps even a greater depth into your HEART.
