Pentecost Offering

The
Pentecost Offering is the youngest member of the PC(USA) special offerings’
family, first received by congregations in 1998. Like the other special offerings,
it provides direct ways for congregations to support specific causes that help
those in need. The Offering is received at Westminster on the Day of Pentecost,
but some congregations receive it at another time as part of a children or youth
emphasis Sunday.
Congregations are encouraged to keep 40 percent of the Offering to support work on behalf of children at risk. The General Assembly Council divides the remaining 60 percent among:
•
Ministries with youth and young adults (25 percent)
• Young Adult Volunteers (25 percent)
• Child Advocacy Ministries (10 percent)
