Stephen Ministry

The mission of Stephen Ministry is to equip God's people to grow spiritually as they use their gifts for Christ-centered, practical ministry in today's world.

Stephen Ministry is a ministry in our congregation in which trained and supervised lay persons called Stephen Ministers provide one-to-one Christian care to individuals facing life challenges or difficulties. This multiplies the mount of care Westminster can provide by giving us a whole team of skilled caregivers who are equipped to bring Christ's healing love to people who are grieving, in crisis or experiencing other stresses in life.

In John 15:12 Jesus says "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you". Loving and caring for one another is not just the pastor's job--it's something that Jesus calls us all to do. We believe that every Christian is gifted and called to be a minsiter--a servant of Jesus Christ--and can be equipped to extraordinary ministry. We are committed to mobilizing God's people to use their gifts in meaningful ministry, to build up the body of Christ and to embody God's

 

Calvin Cove/Elder Care

Calvin Cove, a day program for older adults, provides a comfortable place for seniors to visit while their caregivers are at work, running errands, or tending to other daily activities. Here older adults visit with friends, play games, participate in arts and crafts, and take day trips among many other activities.

Calvin Cove is for older adults who:

  • Have memory or attention problems

  • Have physical or mobility problems

  • Need assistance to do things they enjoy

  • Seek a structured social environment

    •


Hours of operation are Tuesday - Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Calvin cove is a non-profit, community outreach project of Westminster Presbyterian Church. This program is open to people of all races and faiths.

Before and After School Care

Westminster’s Before and After School Care is in session weekly during the school year. It offers income-based tuition for two-thirds of our participating families. The program has a salaried director and teachers. Westminster provides financial support, substitute teachers and service on the Advisory Board. Westminster Preschool

Westminster’s Preschool is a preschool experience for three, four, and five year olds, five half-days each week. It offers income-based tuition for some participating families. The program has a salaried director and teachers in addition to volunteer support from the congregation. It too comes under the care of the Advisory Board.
