About Westminster

For almost 30 years, Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC), located in Snellville, Ga., has served people from Snellville, Lawrenceville, Grayson, Loganville, Centerville, Stone Mountain and surrounding areas. The congregation of approximately 1000 members, under the Leadership of our pastors and staff, takes pride in reaching out to a diverse group of people from families with young children to retired individuals and all those in between.

WPC is rooted in Presbyterian tradition, but unafraid of adventurous innovation. We have three services of worship on Sunday morning: Chapel Service at 8:00 a.m. and a Traditional Service at 11:15 a.m. both in our Sanctuary, as well as a 9:00 a.m. Contemporary service in the Sanctuary. On Sunday mornings between 10:15 and 11:00 there is also full educational programming for children, youth, and adults.

During most of the year Wednesday evenings are also full with educational and fellowship opportunities: we serve dinner and offer Bible studies and other programs for children and adults. Faithweaver Pals is for 3 year olds through Kindergarten. Faithweaver Friends is a Bible study for elementary age kids (grades 1-5) and PULSE Digging Deeper is designed for kids in middle school (grades 6-8). Senior High Youth (grades 9-12) gather at the church every Wednesday evening except the 4th Wednesday of the month, when they meet in a home for Movie Night. We also have music rehearsals (choral and bells) and Bible studies for children and adults.

Member involvement in ministry is a priority at WPC. Deacons organize active visitation and care of the hospitalized, homebound, and bereaved, as well as supporting new parents, and organizing recreation and fellowship groups.

Our Health Cabinet arranges periodic health screenings, blood donations and training opportunities for the congregation and the community.

WPC's Mission & Outreach Ministry calls members to work in many areas, including the following: Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry; Gwinnett Childrenšs Shelter; Habitat for Humanity; and mission trips to Honduras in partnership with Honduras Outreach International. We also have an active mission team that travels to Bay St. Louis, MS to assist in the repair of homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Four times a year, our church serves as a host facility for Gwinnett County's Family Promise program. Church initiated projects like the Westminster Preschool, Before and After School Care, and Calvin Cove (respite care for older adults) also work under this ministry.

WPC is committed to a dynamic and relevant youth ministry for Middle School and Senior High youth which actively involves young people in weekly education, service, and fellowship. During the summer, mission trips and conferences are a highlight of the Youth Ministry program, including the Montreat Youth Conference/Fun in the Son for Senior Highs, and the Great Escape for Middle Schoolers. Senior high youth have an opportunity to participate in a mission trip every summer; teams have served in Honduras, the Bahamas, and Jamaica, as well as several locations within the United States.

At Westminster we are confident that every person has something to contribute as well as receive, that each one can be blessed as well as become a blessing. Come visit us.
